HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION:
LOVE YOUR HEART

Brief:

Create awareness around the importance of heart disease and what symptoms to look out for apart from the known pain in the left arm.

Insight:

Falling in love feels a lot like a heart attack.

Idea:

True love or a heart attack?

Execution:

Three Valentine's day cards - each describing a scenario that sounds like someone is falling in love, but they are actually having a heart attack. Built-to-be-shared Whatsapp voice notes were also recorded to get the ball rolling.

Results:
In just one day, the campaign reached 1 000 000 South Africans, teaching them how to love their hearts and what to look out for.

How feeleth love?

Is’t thy heart skipping a beat like a gift from above?

Is’t a shortness within thy breath?

Or clammy palms and heavy sweats?

Is’t thy aching stomach?

Or the feeling of thy nausea coming?

Is’t a lightness within thy head?

Or going weak in thy legs?

Anon bended ov'r and hunchback'd

You realise, it’s the symptoms of a heart attack

The feelings of true love match the symptoms of a heart attack.

Love yourself this valentine’s day.
